This project rehabilitates an existing unfinished basement in a 1920’s era Craftsman house, located in the Greenwood neighborhood. The basement had very low 6’-4” ceiling height. Phase 1 of this remodel lifted the entire house another 2 feet to gain the necessary ceiling height, increase access to light and air in the new basement with new larger windows, and to rebuild the perimeter basement walls to modern building codes for seismic stability. Phase two will finish out the newly enlarged space with a new master bedroom suite, laundry room, and a recreation media room. Phase 1 was constructed in the summer of 2016. Phase 2 will start construction sometime in spring of 2017.
